Congressmen Insert Documentary 'WE BECOME SILENT' into the Congressional Debate on Free Trade and Codex

Almost simultaneously, Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) entered the transcript of Miller's film into the Congressional Record, saying that WE BECOME SILENT clearly defined "the potential effects of the Codex Alimentarius Commission's guidelines on vitamin and mineral supplements". With its entry into the Congressional Record, WE BECOME SILENT will forever be immortalized as part of the debate on medical freedom of choice.

Filmmaker Miller did not expect such an immediate response to his film, he said, but he was hopeful that he could impact the debate and explain these complicated issues to consumers in a way that they would understand. "I am humbled and honored that these two distinguished Congressman included my film in the important debate on free trade and Codex," he said. "But I am really most grateful to have produced a film that people worldwide responded to in such positive ways. We all need to pull together and ignore the toxic lies emanating from those who are trying to divide the alternative medicine movement." Miller also encouraged people worldwide to take action by "educating friends and neighbors about the threats to health freedom not only via Codex, but also in domestic legislation involving dietary supplements and genetically modified foods, which are based on phony science."

Miller produced the film under threat of lawsuits from one so-called 'health freedom' organization who tried unsuccessfully to control the message of the film itself. The award-winning producer stood firm, and produced the film based solely on the merits of credible evidence. The result has been an outpouring of support for both Miller and his film.

WE BECOME SILENT is narrated by Dame Judi Dench, one of the world's most distinguished actresses. It details the ongoing attempts by multinational pharmaceutical interests and giant food companies to undercut the public's access to herbs, vitamins and other therapies. It also tackles the immensely complicated issues of the dangers consumers face from the EU Food Supplements Directive, the WTO, the Codex Alimentarius Commission, and various free trade Agreements in the United States.
