Undiagnosed Eye Swelling

by Kristina
(Michigan)

For the past year I have had eye swelling (both eyes, but right eye is worse, periorbital swelling and occasional pressure feeling like my eyeball is bugging out).

My doctors have been no help, they basically tell me to live with it.

The closest I can come to figuring out what is wrong with me is candida/fungal infection. I think this because I had a c-section one year and 3 months ago, was on iv antibiotics in the hospital, took Flagyl and one other antibiotic for one month after coming home from the hospital, upon which I got an infection and had to go back into the hospital for another 24 hours of IV antibiotics. When I came home I was on Flagyl for another 2 weeks. Then I had an IUD inserted, which broke and had to be removed. I felt really sick from this and thats when my eyes swelled up and have not gone away since. Soon after that, we discovered hidden mold in our basement and bathroom, and I am wondering if this contributed to my feeling so awful.

I did the 'spit test', and it indicated a bad case of candida. I went on a candida diet, and began Fungal Defense from Garden Of Life company, but no improvement as of yet.

I have always been interested in herbs and herbal medicine, and have been trying to cure myself of this mysterious malady, which is ruining my life.

I'm hoping for two things from joining this forum:

1) Any advice on what I should do about this problem.
2) Getting to know others who are interested in herbal medicine and being able to discuss ideas and learn.

Allergic Reaction to Fungus May Cause Eye Swelling
by: Anonymous

A nasal irrigation with quarter spoon unrefined salt in warm water(not scalding) two or three times a day helps clear inhaled allergens and fungal colonies hidden in the sinus cavities close to the eyes and nose. Check and find out the different ways to do nasal irrigation. Mayo clinic method or indian neti pot method, whichever is easier may help.

If you still have the problem,

If you still have the problem, you might try using Homeopathic eye drops containing the herb Euphrasia off. They work in most types of infections.

Same thing happens to me
by: Tanya

Hi,

I read your post while doing a search online for my eye symptoms and you have similar problems as I do. I have severe swelling in my right eye that has no plagued me for about four months. It happened while I was in Scotland visiting my fiance last November. I was cleaning a flat in the neighbourhood of a gentleman who smoked heavily and had cats. It started off as severe sinusitis, and then the eye swelling occurred a few days later. I was put on three courses of antibiotics and then Prednisone to keep the inflammation at bay. All that did was give me severe candidiasis and once the steroids were done, even worse eye swelling. You are correct...doctor are pretty much useless!

I had the same thing happen to me back in 2000 when I moved to California for two years. The bad air quality made the same symptoms occur, and I ended up seeing about 7 doctors in 2 years who did nothing but keep me on the steroids indefinitely. That ended up making me gain about 35 pounds and become diabetic type II. The only thing that helped me was when I came back to the East Coast and saw an ENT. He did sinus surgery on me and that cleared the problem up for 76 years!

Now that I am suffering again from this I am not sure where to turn. My sinus cavity should be fine because of the surgery. I suspect that the problem lies in the candidiasis, which can have a nasty effect on your sinuses and other mucous membranes. I am doing the candida cleanse program and hoping it will work. So far it has been a little less than a week and I see no improvement.

If you find anything out to help your situation can you please pass the info back to me??

Good luck!

Eye issues are often a symptom of Liver issues. Find a good Chinese or Ayurvedic herbalist. They should know what to do.
