Obtaining Effective Cordyceps?

After finally finding a good acupuncturist and herbalist, I discovered cordyceps, and it works relatively well for me- and i also tolerated it fine. However, it cost $130, through him, for a two week supply (4 caps per day)...He imports it and makes the capsules himself. His English is poor, and my Chinese is non-existent, so conversation is often hard. I tried two "over-the-counter" products from herbal stores in China town, as well as a bottle from Aloha medicinals online, but that gave me diarrhea and intestinal discomfort.

Is it possible to obtain real cordyceps at a price cheaper than $130 for a 14-day supply? Many places seem to sell it, but it is either fake or an ineffective form of the substance. Any leads on legitimate places to find this? It really helps me, but I can't afford to buy it from my acupuncturist...
