Jan 01, 2008 Not Oregano Oil by: Anonymous What strength did you buy? Oregano Oil is very hot/warming. Have you tasted it yourself? It may also burn his stomach. I would NOT give it to an 8 mo old baby. You can use cool mist vaporizers or warm air humidifiers. Check the baby care aisle of your stores and ask your pharmacists for medications to put in vaporizers. Also look for nasal saline mists to help de-congest. At 8 mos of age you do not know if your son has allergies or how he will react to medicines or even sometimes foods. Be careful and go slow. Many cold remedies also contain caffeine which of course is BAD for babies and children. Get him to drink warm liquids (thins the mucus). You can add extra water to his formula so he gets more liquids but will still be hungry. Be aware that dairy and sugar may create more mucus.
