Bladder Control

by Lyn
(Houston, TX)

Can any one tell me some effective herb that will help me with bladder control? I've tried 3 prescription meds, 1 patch type remedy and cut out tea and coffee. I have to get up every 2 hours. Thanks for your help.

Exam is Key to Understanding Bladder Control Problems and Solutions
by: Healthy Bladder Solutions

Ss a health care practitioner, I will stress again, that you can try various methods to improve bladder control problems, if you do not see results or your problem gets worse, you really need an examination to determine the problem - and sometimes the solution is simple - yes pelvic floor exercises work great when you do them correctly - unfortunately that is difficult to do without biofeedback - there are many supplements to help "calm down" a bladder - if you are a female - you need a pelvic exam - older men usually have prostate problems - NAFC.org is a great resource (National Association for Continence).

Get a proper evaluation and know what you are dealing with.

All the best,

Susan

Kegels!
by: Erinn Doncaster

Hello! I know it's been a while since you've posted, and hopefully bladder control is no longer an issue for you. However, if it is, perhaps you could try toning your pc muscles. your pc muscles are basically the muscles in your pelvic floor, and among other things, they're the ones you use to hold in urine. To isolate this muscle group, try and stop the flow of urine the next time you go to pee - the muscles you contract are your pc's.

There are two methods I know of for toning this muscle group. Method one is using ben wa balls. These balls are inserted vaginally and left in for several hours as you go about your normal business. As you move around (vacuuming, dancing, walking around at work, etc etc) your muscles will sense the movement inside of you and contract to hold the balls in. You may want to use a natural, water-based lube when inserting them. You can find ben wa balls at your local feminist sex shop, or if there are no friendly establishments in your area, try ordering them online from Good Vibrations in the U.S. or Venus Envy in Canada.

The other method is kegel exercises. Contract and relax your pc's as quickly as you can in sets of 10 with about 30 seconds rest between each set or, contract for 10 seconds and relax for 10 seconds. The neat thing about kegel exercises is that nobody can tell you're doing them, so you can do them anytime and anyplace! On the bus, in the line at the grocery store, at school, sitting at the computer, etc etc etc. and bonus - the pc muscles contract when you have an orgasm, so the stronger they are, the stronger your orgasms will be! Just make sure that you consciously relax as well as contract when you're exercising - hypertense pc's come with their own set of issues.

Good luck!

This could help you

You might try taking Homeopathic non-prescription pills containing the herbs Sepia and Boerrhavia diffusa, in a dilution of 30x.

They act by reducing irritation and inflammation of the bladder mucosa, especially the urethral mucosa.

Supplements for Bladder Problems
by: Susan Rinkus Farrell

Hello:

I am a board certified nurse practitioner with an office practice in Katy, Texas. I incorporate many non-invasive (biofeedback, electrical stimulation) and non-surgical therapies to treat bladder control problems. I also recommend supplements in addition to prescription medications. I develop a personalized Healthy Bladder Program for my patients. It takes time & patience to get bladder control problems under control.

However you must be evaluated by a trained health care professional.

My website www.healthybladdersolutions.com has info that may be useful to you. Or visit the NAFC website and search for a specialist in your area.

All the best. You can also find info on FACEBOOK fan page - Healthy Bladder Solutions
