Horsetail Equisetum arvense (Horsetail Family)During the Middle Ages clumps of this plant were used as scouring pads to clean iron cookware and pewter dishes due to it's high silicon content. It's rich source of silica strengthens connective tissue and helps with arthritis as well. Also useful for bed-wetting and urinary incontinence, bursitis, emphysema and hemorrhoids. Horsetail improves the texture and tone of hair, nails and skin, and greatly strengthens bones and teeth. Horsetail is used medicinally as a tea or tincture.
