Herbal Green Tea Chai Recipe
Try this spicy herbal green tea chai blend which originated in Nepal and was formulated for longevity. The perfect recipe for those chilly fall mornings!
5 cups water 5 tablespoons green tea leaves
5 slices fresh ginger root, grated 2 whole cloves 2 teaspoons cardamom, crushed 1 cinnamon stick broken into small pieces 5 black peppercorns 1 tablespoon sliced ginseng root
1 tablespoon sliced licorice root 1 tablespoon sliced fo-ti Frothy milk of your choice Powdered nutmeg and cinnamon
Gently warm the water and herbs in a covered saucepan for 10-15 minutes over medium-low heat. (You don't want it to boil.) Strain the mixture and add honey to taste. Pour into your favorite mug and top it off with some frothed milk, and sprinkles ofnutmeg and cinnamon. ENJOY!
