Bilberry

Bilberry Vaccinium myrtillus (Blueberry Family)

The leaves of the blueberry shrub have been used traditionally forstrengthening capillaries treating vascular disorders, atherosclerosis, diabetes, diarrhea, eye disorders, gout, high blood pressure, peptic ulcer, prostatitis.

A juice made from the berries can be diluted with a bit of Witch Hazel and rubbed on the skin to soothe a sunburn.

The fresh berries are also eaten to relieve constipation.

Dried bilberry leaf is used in teas and infusions. Tablets are made from extract.

CAUTIONS: Do not take during pregnancy or if you have bleeding disorders.
